Nichia “Dual Function” LED
Following the growing interest in virus disinfection thanks to the already known effects of UV-C light, the latest research have proven that even the visible light, with a wavelength of 380nm–420nm, has similar effects for the inactivation of various main bacteria present in our daily living environments.
In this contest, after many studies, Nichia has designed and realized the new NF2W585AR-P8 “Dual Function” LED: a unique highly efficient and innovative LED that provides both light and bacteria disinfection.
Test from the Prefectural Industrial Technology Center in Tokushima, in particular, have shown how the new NF2W585AR-P8 LED, with a wavelength up to 405nm, can inactivate in just a few hours, bacteria like Escherichia Coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.
With a lightbar of nine NF2W585AR-P8 LEDs, at a distance of 40 cm and a temperature of 25°C, for example, after only 5 hours of irradiation the inactivation rate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacterium is 98.9%.
The new NF2W585AR-P8 LED is suitable for the disinfection of all daily environments.
